Monthly work party to remove invasive plant species

September 19 @ 9:00 am 12:00 pm

Join Keta Legacy Foundation on Saturday, September 19th to remove invasive plant species in the Rhododendron Preserve’s beautiful Hidden Valley!

As part of our ongoing efforts to manage the Preserve and restore riparian habitat in the Chico Creek watershed, we will be removing invasively spreading plant species like common ivy and blackberry from Hidden Valley. Whether a long-time friend of the Preserve or someone new, your help in restoring Hidden Valley’s diverse riparian habitat will help improve the conditions needed to shade salmon-bearing creeks, control erosion, and improve habitat for the birds, insects, amphibians, and mammals that call the Preserve’s ecosystems home.

Please bring the following: water bottle (extra if it is going to be warm), snacks, sun protection, and sturdy shoes!

We will meet in the upper parking lot shared with the Mountaineers.

If you plan to enjoy a walk along Big Tree Trail after the work party, please bring a lunch.
