At the Foundation, our board is keenly aware of our mission to preserve, inspire and educate the general public, kids of all ages and the community on the value of land conservation and stewardship. As much as we are focused on inspiring you, our volunteer board also understands that we must model the behavior we want to inspire in others – not just today, but generations from now.
Accordingly, we work to demonstrate collaboration. It’s inspiring to us to have such amazing partners working alongside us as we restore our waterways to ensure healthy salmon runs. The Suquamish Tribe has been incredibly helpful in this work. Their expertise is invaluable and has helped us share their insights and information with school children, community groups and partners. We continue to collaborate with schools to create specialized field trips that foster curiosity and inspire wonder in the outdoors. And, we collaborate with our community members and donors to highlight areas on the Preserve that need work and harness amazing volunteers to help plant, guide and educate.
We demonstrate commitment to our mission of conservation and restoration through our Community Grants program, which includes diverse programs and groups to ensure outdoor access and equity for all.
Also, we are committed to the restoration of our waterways and lands in the face of a changing climate. We know that we must be an example for all the students and visitors on the Preserve. From our forest restoration work to the removal of invasive species, we are continuing to not only inspire each other, but our partners, donors and community leaders.
In short, we use our platform to amplify ideas that will make a difference to the long-term health and sustainability of our natural environment. Thank you for joining us on this journey. You inspire us and we only hope we do the same for you.
