We are incredibly pleased to have been able to arrange two days of negotiations with The Mountaineers on September 22nd and 23rd to begin to address issues within the overall litigation that has gone on for four years.
In keeping with our confidentiality promise, I cannot disclose details of our discussions. However, I will tell you that we – Mindy Roberts, Scott Eby, and I – have been pleased with the collaboration that has been demonstrated during the negotiations.
As part of our work, we took The Mountaineers team out to the Preserve to look at the intersections of our properties and the restoration work that we’ve done. We discussed our top priority of protecting the land and waterways of the Preserve. Not only was it great to be out on the landscape, but it was nice to create a greater understanding of the delicate ecosystem and how we can work together to find common ground on all facets of the litigation.
We have continued to communicate with the Mountaineers and are planning to meet again soon. As always, I thank you for your support and patience as we work to ensure that both organizations can move forward to the benefit of our members and our communities.
