Deschutes River Alliance: The comprehensive nuisance algae study will help the Deschutes River Alliance and our partners deepen our understanding of the outcomes of over a decade of water quality violations on the lower Deschutes River. Nuisance algal and aquatic plant growth has become a growing concern, with potential impacts on water quality, fish habitat, macroinvertebrates, and the overall balance of the river ecosystem. The algae study will generate data on the extent, composition, and seasonal patterns of algae and aquatic plants, filling a knowledge gap for managers, stakeholders, and the public.
