We would welcome you to join our volunteer leader and board member Joe Albrecht on the third Saturday of each month, from 9 a.m. to noon, May through November. With Joe leading the way, we will get our hands dirty working on projects in Hidden Valley to remove invasive plants, plant and mulch trees, and tackle any safety issues found along the way. The volunteer work party opportunities are listed on the Foundation’s website, the trailhead kiosk and on our social media channels.
In addition to all the volunteer work, the Preserve Committee selected Mackenzie Adams as this summer’s student intern. Mackenzie has extensive experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and data analysis and will be working for the Foundation for 350 hours beginning in June. Our student intern program has proved beneficial for the Foundation and the students as we, together, map and learn about the best ways to protect the waterways and forests of the Preserve. We are excited to have her expertise in our work to preserve the critical lands and waters of the Preserve.
