The Kitsap Water Festival is a day of learning about and celebrating water. Education experts, environmental professionals, storytellers, entertainers and members of the community come together and set up educational exhibits for local students. Over 1,100 3rd and 4th grade students from Kitsap and North Kitsap County visit the festival.
The Foundation hosted a hands-on exhibit. The exhibit displayed different plants and animals that rely on the Chico Creek watershed. Students were asked to identify animal tracks and match the track to the animal. The students also observed different skulls and fur pelts to see if they could identify the animals. Another favorite display was the real salmon life cycle.
